Hi! My name is Anna and I’m a senior at Skyline High School in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I had learned quite a bit about film in my school’s magnet program, but my first real-world application of these skills was submitting to the Teens Dream video competition in 2015. I thought it was really cool because I was able to share my ideas about an issue I was passionate about to a whole new group of people, who actually cared to listen. I am really excited to be a part of the organization that started my deeper interest in filmmaking.
“The Teens Dream video competition was the first time that I publicized my work, and the opportunity to share my dream was absolutely wonderful. The amazing trip to Washington D.C. gave Teens Dream another layer, as I never imagined that my dream would ever be celebrated. I am excited to associate with such a great organization.”
“Teens Dream is an incredible organization, and without it, I would never be traveling to DC for anything more than a family vacation. From the radio interview to the meetings with the Union of Concerned Scientists and the Rainforest Action Network, TeensDream has gone above and beyond to help me reach my dream.”
Hi! My name is Vanessa Chan, and I’m an eighteen year old freshman at Johns Hopkins. I began my journey of making short videos and taking pictures when I was in middle school. Since then, my love for the camera has grown. In high school, I started a video and photography club when I found out that none existed to share my hobby and passion for film and photography with others. I got in contact with Teens Dream after our club submitted a video for their video competition. Teens Dream has been an amazing organization, and I can’t wait to see what the future has in store for me.
“Teens Dream is a supportive and wonderful organization. It has given me the opportunity to travel to Washington, D.C. to network with and meet fellow peers who have aspirations to change and impact their communities. In addition, they have provided me with a starting point to achieve my own dream.”
